International Chili Society Competitions

Your recipe will be evaluated by a panel of judges under ICS guidelines

Traditional Red Chili:

• Grand Prize: $1,000 cash and a plaque, plus the opportunity to compete in the 2009 World’s Championship Chili Cook-Of!!
• 2nd & 3rd Places - $ 100 cash and a medal
• 4th & 5th Places - a medal

Chili Verde:

• 1st Place - $250 cash and a plaque.  Plus the opportunity to compete in the 2009 World’s Championship Chili Cook-Off!
• 2nd Place - $50 cash and a medal

Salsa:

• 1st Place - $250 cash and a plaque.  Plus the opportunity to compete in the 2009 World’s Championship Chili Cook-Off!
• 2nd Place - $50 and a medal
• 3rd Place - a medal

Team Showmanship

Secret judges will rate cooking teams on Creativity, Enthusiasm, Planning, Professionalism and Customer Service to choose the winner of this year’s Team Showmanship Award!

• 1st Place - $100 cash and a plaque
• 2nd & 3rd Places - a medal

Fundraising Award

All teams are eligible. Start your fundraising efforts now!  All monies collected by your cooking team for NKF including personal fundraising dollars, donations and ticket collections will count towards your fundraising total.

People’s Choice

All teams are eligible. Make sure to sell those samples so that the public can vote on their favorite chili and salsa recipes naming the Peoples Choice Chili, Vegetarian Chili and Salsa winners!

• 1st Place Red Chili - $100 cash & a plaque
• 2nd Place Red Chili - $50 cash &  a medal
• 3rd Place Red Chili - $25 cash &  a medal
• 1st Place Chili Verde - $100 cash and a medal
• 1st Place White Chili - $100 cash and a medal

• 1st Place Salsa - $100 cash & a plaque
